A) Weightlifting is not a competition. If a 70 pound women corrected my technique, and she is correct, it’s as pertitent as if a 350 Powerlifter did.
B) You have *no* idea what my weightlifting experience/proficiency is.
Not a competition? That’s interesting. They must hand out all those medals for shits and giggles then. If a 70 pound woman who was smaller than me gave me training advice, I would have no reason to think she would be right. “If you want to know about the mountain, ask the man who climbs it everyday.” The 350lb lifter climbs it.
This dude has big arms. To tell him he’s doing it wrong when he has big arms just doesnt make any sense.
So because there are weightlifting competitions, that makes ALL weightlifting inherently competitive? And people who have bigger muscles know more about weightlifting by definition than those who have smaller muscles?
I apologize, I had no idea you were 15 years old/delusional.
I dont think either one of us is an any position to speculate anything about ALL weightlifting. We can infer that this man ( a competitive bodybuilder) lifts for competitive reasons.
To answer your second question, as an absolute, no. But generally, if someone is bigger, they probably know more about lifting than someone smaller. Just as a better soccer player knows more than a less experienced one and a richer businessman knows more about making money than a poor guy. It’s pretty intuitive.
The problem with your analogy is that size does not equal success in weightlifting.
I BET you I could HUMBLE anyone that I put through *my* leg workout, and while my legs are PRETTY big, they are not “holy shit” big.
Didn’t you just say weightlifting isn’t competitive?
I’ve never seen you train. I don’t know how intense you train or what numbers you put up. I’m not sure why that’s relevant. I do know that, barring the bantam weight class, you cannot win a bodybuilding show unless you have size. Yes, you need symmetry and leanness, but the MOST important thing in bodybuilding is size. So, in bodybuilding size doesnt equal success, but you cant have success without size.
You are obviously very young, very stupid, and/or a very good actor.
My leg workout being so difficult is WHY weightlifting is not a competition. Many guys with bigger legs than me WOULD NOT be able to get through my workout, and I am sure there are plenty of “small guys” who could outlift me, P4P.
As soon as your ego becomes the reason you are lifting for, it’s time to step away from the gym, because ego will not sustain you. That type of lifter is an insincere lifter, and won’t last.
Attempts at ad hominem arguments (young, stupid, etc.) have no place in a reasonable discussion.
I’m not even sure what’s being argued now, since you brought up your workout.
Back to the video. The man has built big arms with this “bad” form. He is a bodybuilder. In bodybuilding, your goal is bigger muscles. The best form is that which trashes the target muscle. So, it doesnt matter if his upper sways or not. It matters if his biceps are stimulated.
How do you know he built those “big arms” with his bad technique? How do you know he didn’t use steroids, or use proper technique up until recently?
And I find it humorous that you attempt to lecture me in proper unbiased, rational discussion methods.
Glad I could humor you. But, once again, not relevant.
He’s showing one of his favorite arm exercises. It seems reasonable to believe that if he’s doing one of his favorites, he’s used it alot.
Not sure what steroids have to do with anything. As if using steroids means you just grow or something, regardless of training, diet, or intensity.
We have no reason to think he used “proper” technique and all of the sudden loosened up in this video.
Once again, good form=that which trashes the target.
lol donovan showed you man. just give up
? Showed me what exactly?
the truth
You clearly do not understand what the term means if you attribute it to one side of a subjective argument.
I don’t really understand this. What makes them power bar curls? He’s able to lift more weight because he is using a little bit of momentum? Can someone explain this?
Just re-watch the video and Dave explains the technique he uses.
Its ok to cheat the weight, your NEVER gonna get strong or big by doing striaght pussy proper GAY form
yh that is right u can use a little chetin even if u are swinging the heavy weight up the just lowerin it to gain a bit of strength
no wonder this guy can lift heavier weight anyone could this guy is swingin the barbell towards him and not giving his biceps the work that they should be doing…. and another thing , whats with the back bent and leaning forward? .. your back always stays straight, knees slightly bent and feet shoulders width, keep elbows tucked in at same position all the time(fact)! without swingin the barbell up it will actually be working the bicep muscle, really dont know what this guys about
why do people wear hats when they work out :\?
So they don’t have to comb their hair before they go to the gym
mine keeps the sweat out of my eyes!
wheres your videos? it obviously works for him look at his size.
i’m a personal trainer… just because someones size doesn’t mean they are doing right work you have watched a youtube video how do u know what supplements hes takin or whatever… guys come in to my gym everyday that are built like tanks, do full body workouts which is wrong and the guy next to him has not got a big a build as him but works to a diet, routine and can lift heavier weight!! because the big guys that are comming in are on the use of steroids.
Yeah, I cheat a little bit when I’m using 25s. That sh*t is heavy for me.
