bodybuilding exercise: home workout – pushups (push-ups)

Pushups are one of the best all-around chest exercises you can do at home. Here is a video clip showing proper form. See my free website (no advertising either) for more workout tips: fitness.scoobysworkshop.com

  • blackhawk777

does my hand have to point in at an angle?

  • unitylovefamily

the farther your arms apart the more chest closer =triceps

  • serge25

awesome stuff. with this slow, controlled form it is harder, but definitely better.

on another note, i really like that bird noise in the background. whenever i hear it, it is so calming and peaceful

    cheere.

    3 do more man ! i know u can , make 20!

  • stinky472

Now those are real push-ups. Screw those idiots who post videos of themselves bobbing their head 100 times a minute.

  • chocker1

can some one tell me what push ups build,im 13 and i wanna get in better shap for hockey and if u wanted to know i play bantom cc.PLZ TELL ME

  • chocker1

If u can also tell me a good work out for my age PLZ.

  • scooby1961

I never quite understood. When people do the ‘head bobbing’ pushups, do they really think they are working out their chest?

  • scooby1961

Personally, I think 13 is too young for bodybuilding. I think the best thing you could do to get in better shape for hockey is to either play more hockey or pick up a sport that work your upper body more and increase your endurance (like swimming).

  • chocker1

is it good to do like push ups and sit ups u think.

  • chocker1

oh and thanks by the way

  • rurounikenshin456

my cuz is 13 but he really wants to get jacked should he do ur routeens?

  • scooby1961

I think 13 is too young to start bodybuilding. I’d rather see your cousin do team sports.

Hey, I am very interested in yoga! By any chance could you make a video on that!?
    Thanks!
    -Shahla.

  • scooby1961

Not my area of expertise. I’m going to start yoga, give me about 20 years to get some experience under my belt.

  • XXXConspiracy

Ok, but in 20 yrs. I ain’t gonna be on youtube anymore :( Lol.

on your website you say not to go all the way to the ground when doing push ups because your shoulders are behind the plane of your body and is an injury risk but you do go all the way down in this video? whats that about?

  • knightridercupid

hey scooby1961..u have some great work out tips..and i can use them efficiently since i work out at home only.. i was wondering if u have any tips for tricepts workouts..thanks..

  • scooby1961

Uh oh, I’m SO busted. This is exactly why its good to video yourself doing an exercise to catch problems with your form. It is best for your shoulders if you stop when your elbows are at about a 90 degree angle, which is what I thought I was doing but the video tells a different story.

My favorite exercise is the “skull crusher” otherwise known as the “french press” (dont ask me why). Its listed on my list of videos as:

yeah the French Press is nice!
Scooby? How can i reach 75 push ups, fast?
can make 50 now, didn’t done anything 4 it, haha, do you have some tips for me so i can make more PU’s in a row? Have uploaded my push ups, maby you see anything i can do better?

    Tnx, Thijs

If your goal is to go more pushups, I can think of lots of ways to train for that. Start by using backpack pushups to build up strength (see chest workout on my website). You can also try clapping pushups, one-handed pushups, and ultra-slow pushups. All these should help you increase the number of pushups you can do.
