Thanks for the comment. At 15 you want to work out quite light for another year or so. Even though you are working light you will still build good strong legs. Baz
so do You reccomand me to do some workouts with or without dumbells? whats the best workout for legs at the age of 15 but without hurting myself? thanks a lot, Your videos rock.
is your name basil like basil fawlty? im acanadian and i duno if uve see nthat show but i think its the best thing to come out of england!!
Thanks very much for the comment. I would do about 4 set of 10-12 reps. I would do the exercise where you put one leg on a bench or chair and then squat with one leg. Use very light dumbbells. That is an excellent exercise for quads, inside thigh and hamstrings. I would also do the same for calves with calf raises. That will give you an overall workout for the legs. Baz
Yes it is Basil and i have seen Faulty Towers and excellent comedy. Lots of good things come out of England it is a lovey place. Baz
youre a legend.. a role model to all of us that cant afford to go to the gym!
im sixteen with 16.5 inch biceps and 16 inch thighs.. its not good!
hopefull doing these exercises will help them get pretty massive
Thank you so much for the great compliment. I am sure if you eat right and train right you will grow quite quickly. Baz
I go to the gym very often BUT i found this leg excercise better that the gym so Thanks
Tks for the comment. That is a great compliment thank you. Baz
i am at the age of 15 and i am 6 feet tall i can almost touch the rim of a ten foot basketball hoop. what exercises do you think i should do to be able to dunk or at least touch the rim
If you work on your legs in general with some reasonalble weights you will buil up some muscle. What you are wanting is to be explosive. Calves play a very big part in how you will jump so work them well. Baz
hello um i was wondering how many reps do i do in the second thigh work out plus i love that wun cause it does work but it hurts my upper toes on my right foot layed on the table every time i go down with my left thigh’s and leg
Tks for the comment. I normally do a pyramid type of training so 12 reps then 10,8,6 with the weight increasing each time. On 6 reps you should be really battling. Then a final 12 reps with the weight of the 8 reps. have 1 min rest between sets. Your feet should be flat on the table so your toes are not bending (Soles fo the fee facing up) I hope that helps . Baz
Hello i have question for you. I’m 19 years old, do a lot of trains to legs(leg press about 400-500kg, squad 165kg) but legs dont get massive , and eat very mych egg’s… what to do !?
Thanks for the question. You certainly seem to be doing the weight for big legs but it depends on how many sets and reps you are doing and how often you are training. Muscles grow when you feed them and rest not when you are working them. Let me know what your training consists of. Baz
in Leg press sets: 3-4 reps: 12
Squad sets:3 reps:10
Train 4 times in 1 week.
And train legs almost 1 year.
P.S. Thanks for answer.
I think you are training too many times a week. Try this and see. Squats only nothing else. Warm up 12-15 reps 12 reps heavier. 10 reps heavier. 8 reps heavier 6 reps as heavy as you can handle. Then 12 reps with the weight of the 8 reps. No more than 2 x a week. You must eat well and take some protein drinks to help build the muscles. Let me know how it goes. You should see a difference in about 8 weeks. Baz.
Thank you Baz for your advise and ofcourse i will try this! And i will tell you about progress
P.S. Thanks, you are very Helpful !
Pleasure and I am looking forward to hearing of your progress. Baz
hi baz
once again your videos prove to be very informative and helpfull.
i am going to try the first excersise in this video,is it called the bulgarian sqaut?anyway it looks hard to do
thanks again
barry
Thanks very much and for the information. It is hard and you cannot do much weight with amazing results. Baz
Hello Baz great videos. The one leg dumbbell squat really does feel double in weight. I use an 18kg cast iron “Body Sculpture” branded dumbbell set at home. Is this heavy enough to see results if I do 30 reps x 5 twice a week? (300 altogether).
I eat 30g protein half hour after my leg workout (peanut buter, cottage cheese, brown bread) washed down with water, and I eat 30-35g protein with carbs 5x a day in total, but not seeing big results after 7 weeks.
Thanks for the compliment. I don’t know that it will make you massive or probably as big as you would like. It is a good exercise for a while . You cannot beat the old fashioned Squat. I will send you what I do. Baz
Totally helpful video, Baz. I don’t really train my lower body that much so whenever I look at the mirror, I can see that my body is not well proportioned. What advice can you give me to make my legs catch up with my upper body? Should I lift more weights for my legs? Or do more reps?
Jeff,
Thanks for the comment. That is the problem with most people as training legs is hard. I would just start to train them and they will catch up. Train the way you train the upper body for the lower body. When you train see the end result in your mind every time you train and let the body take care of the rest. Baz
